Sunnyside Guest Code of Conduct & Safety Agreement

Version: 1.0
Effective Date: October 12, 2026
Applies to: All family-sponsored guests attending authorized Sunnyside meetups, events, programs, and other restricted activities.

Dear Guest,

We know this is a lot to read, and you might find some parts boring. But please take the time to read every single sentence carefully. If you can, read it aloud, and consider reading it more than once so you can remember what it means.

This Code of Conduct is more than a list of rules. It is a promise to bring your best self to Sunnyside: to treat others with respect, practice kindness, mind your manners, respect personal boundaries, and help make everyone feel safe and welcome.

These rules are here to protect you, the other guests, and the Sunnyside members and families you will meet. Before you sign, make sure you understand what you are agreeing to and what is expected of you.

It's okay to ask questions. If you come across a word, rule, or situation you don't understand, ask your parent or guardian, or a Sunnyside organizer, to explain it to you. Never sign something you don't understand.

Thank you for taking this seriously. We look forward to seeing you in our community!

-- Gen Millare, Co-Founder & CEO

1. Our Standard: Social Graceβ„’

At Sunnyside, Social Grace means kindness you practice.

We respect people, read the room, and leave things better than we found them.

Our community brings together children, teens, parents, and families. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome. Participation is a privilege that comes with responsibility.

This agreement explains the standards every guest is expected to follow.

2. Respect & Kindness

πŸ”₯ Guests must treat every participant with respect.

The following are not allowed:

β€’ Bullying, harassment, threats, intimidation, or discrimination.
β€’ Humiliating, mocking, or deliberately embarrassing another person.
β€’ Excluding, provoking, or repeatedly targeting someone.
β€’ Retaliating against anyone who raises a concern or reports misconduct.
β€’ Using jokes, teasing, or pranks to excuse behavior that hurts or makes another person uncomfortable.
β€’ Using vulgar language or introducing mature topics that are inappropriate for a family setting.

Good intentions do not automatically make an action acceptable. If someone tells you that your behavior is making them uncomfortable, take it seriously.

3. Cultural Safety, Appropriate Content, and Respectful Dialogue

Sunnyside is a family-centered community with shared standards for how we treat one another and what we introduce into our spaces.

Guests must not use Sunnyside activities, conversations, devices, or group chats to introduce, promote, or impose content, conduct, or agendas that violate Sunnyside's rules or standards.

The following are not allowed:

β€’ Inappropriate content: Showing, playing, sharing, or distributing sexually explicit, graphic, vulgar, or otherwise age-inappropriate videos, music, images, jokes, or other material.
β€’ Vulgar language and mature topics: Introducing sexually explicit conversations, profanity-laden material, or other mature content inappropriate for a family-centered setting.
β€’ Coercion and ideological pressure: Pressuring, manipulating, intimidating, or repeatedly persuading others to accept personal beliefs, participate in activities, or support an agenda against their wishes.
β€’ Political and religious solicitation: Campaigning, preaching, recruiting, distributing invitations, or soliciting participation in political or religious activities during Sunnyside experiences without prior authorization.
β€’ Confrontational debates: Initiating or escalating political or religious arguments, ideological confrontations, or debates that disrupt the activity, target participants, or make others feel pressured or unsafe.
β€’ Rumors and gossip: Spreading unverified claims, discussing private matters to damage someone's reputation, or encouraging speculation about another participant or family.
β€’ Disruptive outside agendas: Using Sunnyside events or communication channels to recruit for outside groups, promote unauthorized activities, or encourage behavior that conflicts with Sunnyside's rules and standards.

Guests must respect the purpose and atmosphere of each activity. If an organizer asks them to stop a conversation, remove content, or redirect an activity because it violates these standards, they must comply.

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ These rules are about conduct and content in Sunnyside spaces, and not about judging someone's identity or private beliefs. Respectful personal expression is different from coercion, solicitation, harassment, or disruptive advocacy.

When in doubt, keep it respectful, age-appropriate, and consistent with Sunnyside's standards.

4. Romantic Relationships and Public Displays of Affection

Sunnyside is a family-centered community with clear standards for relationships and appropriate conduct.

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Guests must respect Sunnyside's rules regarding romantic relationships. Romantic relationships between participants are not permitted within Sunnyside's community, and Sunnyside activities, programs, events, digital spaces, or other community settings must not be used to pursue, conceal, facilitate, or legitimize relationships that violate this rule.

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Public displays of affection (PDA) are not permitted during Sunnyside activities or within Sunnyside spaces. This includes kissing, intimate touching, and other romantic physical displays that are inconsistent with our community standards.

Guests must not use Sunnyside events to arrange secret romantic encounters, pressure another participant into a relationship, or circumvent applicable parent/guardian permissions and Sunnyside policies.

These standards apply equally to guests and members. Sponsorship, friendship, prior attendance, or a personal relationship with a member does not create an exception.

Any concern will be handled under Sunnyside's established safety, conduct, and access procedures, with appropriate attention to the facts and the privacy of those involved.

5. Personal Space, Boundaries, and Consent

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Every person has the right to their own personal space and boundaries.

Guests must not:

β€’ Touch, hug, grab, or physically interact with someone without appropriate consent.
β€’ Continue touching, approaching, teasing, or pursuing someone after they have said no or shown clear discomfort.
β€’ Follow, corner, stalk, pressure, or intimidate another participant.
β€’ Pressure anyone into conversations, activities, photographs, or interactions they do not want.
β€’ Treat silence, politeness, or a lack of resistance as permission.

Respect a person's boundaries the first time. If you are unsure, ask. If someone says no, stop.

6. Authorized Participation and Access

Sunnyside meetups and events are Protected Experiences. Guests may attend only activities for which Sunnyside has explicitly authorized them.

Guests must:

β€’ Provide accurate information during the application process.
β€’ Attend only the approved event, activity, date, and time.
β€’ Follow event instructions and the directions of authorized Sunnyside organizers and safety monitors.
β€’ Remain in designated areas unless an authorized Sunnyside Guardian or parent/guardian permits otherwise.
β€’ Obtain permission before leaving a designated area, particularly when participating as a minor.
β€’ Never bring an additional guest without prior authorization.

Family sponsorship is an endorsement, not membership or automatic admission. Previous attendance, friendship with a member, form submission, or payment does not grant access to future activities.

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Guests must not use Sunnyside's name, identity, or endorsement to organize or represent an unauthorized activity as an official Sunnyside meetup.

7. Digital Conduct and Privacy

The same standards of respect apply online.

Guests must not:

β€’ Cyberbully, harass, threaten, impersonate, or publicly humiliate another participant.
β€’ Share private messages, contact details, addresses, or other personal information without appropriate permission.
β€’ Secretly record private conversations or use screenshots, recordings, or messages to embarrass or intimidate someone.
β€’ Use group chats or social media to misrepresent Sunnyside's approval or bypass its access and safety rules.

If you encounter concerning behavior online involving a Sunnyside participant or activity, report it to an authorized Sunnyside representative.

8. Photographs, Videos, and Recording

Participants' privacy matters, especially when children and teens are involved.

Guests must follow Sunnyside's photography and recording rules.

β€’ Obtain the required permission before taking or sharing identifiable photographs or videos of other participants.
β€’ Follow applicable parent/guardian consent requirements for minors.
β€’ Do not secretly photograph, record, or publish images of participants where consent or privacy protections are required.
β€’ Do not assume that attending an event means someone has agreed to be photographed or featured in promotional content.

Any separate photo or video consent must be handled through Sunnyside's designated consent process.

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ This agreement does not itself grant permission to use anyone's image.

9. Contact and Relationships Outside Sunnyside Events

Protection goes both ways.

Sunnyside wants friendships to develop in respectful, age-appropriate ways, without pressure or unwanted contact.

For interactions arising from a Sunnyside event, guests and members must not solicit or exchange phone numbers, email addresses, social media accounts, or other personal contact details with minors, or initiate off-platform contact with them, without the required parent/guardian permission.

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Participants must not pressure someone to share contact information or arrange private meetups by using a Sunnyside friendship or activities as a pretext.

Sunnyside organizers will not facilitate off-platform contact involving minors without the appropriate permission.

This is not a blanket prohibition on friendships. If a child wants to stay in touch with another participant, the appropriate parent/guardian permission must be obtained.

10. Safety Checks and Organizer Instructions

Guests must cooperate with reasonable, consistently applied safety procedures communicated before or during an event.

These may include attendance checks, designated-area rules, emergency procedures, and other measures appropriate to the activity.

Where a bag inspection is part of the announced event safety procedure, guests must consent to the stated check as a condition of entry. If a guest declines, Sunnyside may refuse admission. Any inspection must be conducted respectfully and limited to the stated safety purpose.

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Weapons, dangerous items, illegal substances, threats, violence, and other prohibited or unlawful conduct are not permitted.

Guests should promptly report safety concerns, injuries, boundary violations, or other incidents to an authorized Sunnyside Guardian, event organizer, or parent/guardian.

11. Honesty and Accountability

Guests are expected to be honest, accept reasonable feedback, and take responsibility for their actions.

Guests must not knowingly provide false information, conceal relevant safety concerns, interfere with a review, or retaliate against anyone who reports a concern.

Sunnyside may review concerns using available information, including observations from organizers, participant reports, and relevant parent/guardian feedback. Everyone involved should be treated fairly, and a report will not automatically be treated as proof of misconduct.

12. Consequences and Continued Access

Sunnyside may take action when a guest violates this agreement or presents a safety concern.

Depending on the circumstances, actions may include:

β€’ A reminder, correction, or warning.
β€’ Restrictions on participation.
β€’ Removal from an event.
β€’ Suspension or revocation of guest authorization.
β€’ Refusal of future access or permanent exclusion.

Serious safety concerns may require immediate protective action without a prior warning. Where appropriate and safe, Sunnyside may seek relevant information from the people involved before making a longer-term decision.

πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Sunnyside's priority is the safety and well-being of participants. Sponsorship does not guarantee continued access.
